A coffee maker is one of the most important appliances that one can have in his home. It is not that expensive and is very useful for your daily coffee routines or just to cure your type of coffee cravings. Long gone are the days where you would have to fuss with manual coffee making or just be content with some low grade instant coffee.
There are different known types of coffee makers that have been made for the past decades. There were the percolator coffee makers, the vacuum coffee makers and the drip coffee makers, among many others. Bodum coffee makers are also simple devices. A common coffee maker just has a reservoir, tube for hot water, shower head or drip area and the heating element. The water reservoir holds water that you will use. It is good to note that at the bottom of the reservoir is a hole that is attached to a tube that leads heated water to the drip area or shower head.
The water head or drip area would shower or drip the hot water on coffee grounds to brew perfect cups of coffee. But the most important part of a coffee maker is its heating element. This is composed of two parts of aluminum extrusion. There is the resistive heating element and an aluminum that heat the water at specific temperatures. The resistive heating element is a wire that is coiled, like that of that electric toaster and heats up when electricity runs through it. Aside from heating up water for brewing, the heating element also keeps the brewed coffee warm and ready to drink.
A common coffee maker also has simple mechanics. The cold water that is poured into the water reservoir flows through a hole into a tube, a natural gravitational phenomenon. When the switch is turned on, the resistive heating element heats up the aluminum tube; which in turn, heats up the water to a boil. The boiled water flows up another tube that leads to the coffee grounds. As the hot water flows through the coffee grounds, coffee oil would be extracted and then flows to the coffee pot.
Some coffee makers are made with some features that you can use to your advantage like the Saeco Primea Touch Plus. There are some coffee makers that have programmable timers. You can prepare your coffee maker the night before you sleep so that when you wake up, you would have coffee ready to be served. In some coffee makers, you can adjust how the coffee is brewed; whether stronger or lighter, according to your preference.
