In 1994, the Yanco Agricultural Institute, Yanco, NSW, Australia , sponsored a rice technical conference, Temperate Rice-Achievements and Potential.
The conference was highly successful and attendees from the temperate rice areas around the world agreed that a conference focusing on the problems of rice production in these environments should be held regularly.
Hence, the second Temperate Rice Conference was held in 1999 in the Sacramento Valley, California , and the third in Punta del Este, Uruguay with increasing success.
The next appointment, the 4th Temperate Rice Conference, will be held in Italy (Europe) in June 2007. The Conference will focus on the recent advances in rice research relating with the major themes of interest: production, culture management, environment, quality, market. Besides this, a special Session will be devoted to initiatives relating to Culture, Traditions and Tourism, topics which represent a non-conventional wide area of activities essentially based on history and environment bound to the rice cultivation.
Dear Collegues and Friends, on behalf of the local Organizing Committee integrated by the Fondazione Agraria Novarese and Promoriso I am pleased to invite you to the 4th International Temperate Rice Conferece, to be held from June 25 to 28, 2007 in Novara - Italy (Europe).

The Conference will focus on the recent advances in rice research relating with the major themes of interest: production, culture management, environment, quality, market.
